Fluffy Funfetti Dip: The No-Bake Birthday Cake Treat Everyone Loves!
If there’s one thing I’ve learned as a mom of three, it’s that anything with sprinkles is an instant hit. This Funfetti Dip is one of those recipes that’s super easy to throw together but makes everyone think you’ve done something extra special. It’s sweet and fluffy, and it tastes just like birthday cake without even turning on the oven.
I actually started making this for my kids’ playdates, and now it has kind of turned into a party staple around here. The best part? You only need a few ingredients and like, ten minutes tops to mix it all up. Just pop it in the fridge and you’re good to go. I usually make it the night before if I remember, but honestly it works fine even if you don’t.
You can dip cookies, fruit, graham crackers or whatever you’ve got on hand. And I’ll be honest, I’ve totally eaten it with a spoon more than once. It’s just one of those feel-good, fun treats that brings out the kid in everyone. Yes, even the grown-ups.

Ingredients
-
15.25 oz box of Funfetti cake mix: This is where all that birthday cake flavor comes from and those colorful sprinkles in the mix make it extra fun.
-
1 cup vanilla pudding, prepared (I use the snack packs): I like using snack packs for this because they’re super convenient and just the right amount.
-
8 oz whipped topping, thawed: Make sure it’s fully thawed so it folds in nice and smooth with the other ingredients.
-
1–2 tbsp rainbow sprinkles: A handful of sprinkles on top right before serving makes it look party-ready and extra festive!

Recipe Instructions
You can find a printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.
1. Heat treat the cake mix in the microwave for 30 second intervals. Stir between each heat session. It will be safe to eat once it reaches 165 degrees. I usually heat for 1-2 minutes total.
2. Mix cake mix and pudding, in a large bowl, then fold in whipped topping.

3. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour, or until ready to serve.

4. Top with sprinkles right before serving.

Top Tips
-
Heat treat the cake mix properly: This step is important since you’re not baking the mix. Microwave it in short bursts and stir in between until it reaches 165°F.
-
Don’t skip the chill time: Letting the dip sit in the fridge helps everything thicken up and makes the texture extra creamy.
-
Use the whipped topping gently: Fold it in slowly so you keep that light and fluffy texture. No need to overmix.
-
Add the sprinkles right before serving: If you add them too early, the colors can bleed into the dip. Wait until the last minute for the best pop of color.
-
Serve it with a variety of dippers: Graham crackers, vanilla wafers, animal crackers, or even sliced fruit all work great with this sweet dip.
-
Make it ahead: You can prep this the night before your party. Just give it a quick stir before serving and you’re all set.

My Favorite Ways to Enjoy Funfetti Dip
-
With animal crackers: There’s just something nostalgic about dunking those little cookies into a fluffy, sprinkle-filled dip.
-
Spread onto graham crackers: Sometimes I treat it like frosting and spread it on instead of dipping. So good.
-
Scooped with fresh strawberries: The combo of juicy fruit and sweet cake flavor is hard to beat.
-
Between two vanilla wafers: Little sandwich-style bites that the kids go crazy for. They disappear fast!
-
As a topping for cupcakes or brownies: A spoonful on top adds a fun twist and extra sweetness.
-
Straight off the spoon: No shame here. When no one’s looking, I totally sneak a bite or two right from the bowl.
