If you’re a follower of fashion or a fan of sportswear, then you might have heard of the Adidas Product Testing program and wondered what it involves. This post is going to take a look at what the Adidas Product Testing program is, whether it’s legit and, if you do decide it’s something that’s right up your street, you’ll find out how to get involved too.
A little about Adidas
Adidas are one of the world’s largest sportswear brands and their products are instantly recognisable from the three stripes they have displayed prominently on all of their products.
Adidas makes all kinds of sporting products and Adidas clothes and trainers are often worn as everyday clothes as well as clothes worn during sports. When you’re accepted into the program, you will receive new products to try out. Sounds great right? However, once the testing period is over, you will have to return the products. You also won’t get paid for taking part either.
You’ll be expected to try out the product for a given length of time during the testing process. Adidas want their products to be tested out by real people in real-life situations so that they can be sure that their products are of the highest possible quality before they release them for general sale.
If you just like to try out new products before anyone else, then this could be a great program for you to be part of. But, if you’ve been hoping to get your hands on a load of free Adidas products, or you’re looking for something that fits around family life and brings in some extra money, then this one probably isn’t right for you.
How do I apply to be an Adidas Product Tester?
If you want to be part of the Adidas product testing team, then it’s pretty straightforward to apply. There’s no guarantee that you’ll be accepted onto the program, but it only takes a few minutes to fill in the application, and you can do it all from the comfort of your own home.
How to apply to Adidas Product Testing
Head over to the Adidas Product Testing website and fill out a survey. It’s really simple to complete and you’ll be asked for the following information:
- What kinds of items you’re interested in testing
- Gender
- Accurate body measurements including chest size, waist size, hip size, thigh size and shoe size
- Sporting interests
- Where you workout
- Whether you can wear the items at work
- Name
- Address
- Valid email address

Qualifying
When I completed the registration form, I had an instant message to say that I was successful. However, it does say that it might be some time before I’m contacted.
As well as an on-screen message telling you that your application was successful, you will also receive an email asking you to verify your email address. If you don’t do this then you won’t be able to start receiving products.
When Adidas have products that fit your profile, they will email you with instructions on what to do next.
Start Testing
When you receive an email asking you to take part in a test period, you just need to accept the offer and you’re on your way to receiving your first products.
Working as an Adidas Product Tester in the UK
As I’ve mentioned above, you won’t get paid for any Adidas product testing opportunities, but you will be expected to report back on your thoughts about the products. So, you need to make sure that you can fulfil these requirements before you accept any Adidas trainers of sports apparel.
Accept the invitation
If you’ve received an email invitation and you want to take part, then you just need to accept the invitation and Adidas will keep you updated with the next steps.
Receive the products
Once you’ve accepted, Adidas will send out the products they want you to try out.
Start testing
Once the products have arrived, it’s time to start testing. Sportswear brands need to be pretty hard-wearing in order to withstand what they’re designed for. So, you’ll need to use the products for the purpose they were designed. For example, if you are sent a pair of running trainers, you will need to wear them whilst you’re out for a run so that you give accurate and honest feedback before the products go on general sale.
You will usually be asked to try out the products for 2-4 weeks. During this time, make sure you keep records of your findings during the product testing period so that you can use that when it’s time to give feedback.
Return the products
At the end of the testing period, it’s time to return the products. You don’t get to keep them sadly! You’ll be provided with full instructions on how to return.

The way that the Adidas product testing program works means that you don’t get to keep the products and you don’t get paid, but you do get to see and try out products before anybody else. As long as you’re comfortable with that, and you have the time to spare to fill out the feedback questionnaire, then there’s no reason why you can’t enjoy being part of the program.
If you’re looking for ways to make extra cash in your spare time, then this probably isn’t the right program for you. There are plenty of side hustles you can try out that will bring in extra money each month, so if it’s money you need, then spend your time working on one of those instead.

Each test period will vary, but they are usually 2-4 weeks in total and you will then need to fill out the online survey questionnaire with all of your findings about the specific product or products you were testing.
What are the minimum requirements to be an Adidas product tester?
When you fill in the initial application form, there are some minimum requirements that you’ll need to meet in order to be successful.

- Have good English language and German speaking and reading skills
- You must have a valid email address
- Have reliable internet access
- Happy to provide accurate measurements of your body and feet

Is there any support for Adidas product testers?
I haven’t yet received any products to test, so I can’t comment on how much support testers receive.
During the application process, there wasn’t any obvious way to contact Adidas directly. The email address they used is no-reply, there’s no obvious email address on the website and I couldn’t see a live chat option.
Once I receive my first test product, I’ll report back about the level of support available for product testers.
Why didn’t I get picked?
If you applied to be a tester but weren’t successful, don’t be too disheartened, it’s nothing personal! Adidas choose their testers based on certain criteria, and they need to make sure they have a good cross-section of testers in order to test their products fairly. They usually choose their testers based on the following criteria:
- Shoe size
- Clothing size
- Demographic
- Location
- Sporting profile
Likewise, if you were successful with your application, you might not get chosen for a product testing period because you don’t quite fit with the specific requirements at the time.

The Adidas Product Testing UK program is definitely legitimate. And if you’re happy with the knowledge that you won’t get paid for your time and you will have to return all products, then there’s no reason not to take part.
The application process is really quick and easy, and you get an immediate decision so you’ll know whether or not you’ve been accepted. Make sure you fill in the application as accurately as possible so that you only receive products that will be a good fit, otherwise you won’t be able to test them out properly.
