Enjoy a Virtual Day at the Races!

Oh, horse racing, how we have missed you! The global Covid-19 pandemic has had a huge impact on all of our lives. Many of us have been forced to stay at home for months now, and for lots of people, watching sports would have been a welcome distraction. Sadly though, sports have been cancelled for what seems like forever, so we couldn’t even enjoy watching a bit of football or losing ourselves in some horse racing!
However, UK horse racing is now back! This is such welcome news for everyone in the horse racing industry and horse racing fans across the country are thrilled! But due to social distancing rules which are still in place, we can’t actually go and have a day at the races. With Ascot fast approaching, many of us will be a little sad that we can’t attend. You might have bought tickets for Ladies’ Day and be disappointed that you can no longer enjoy a day out with the girls!
Enjoy a Virtual Day at the Races!
We’re all having to adapt the way we do things at the moment, and many of us are turning to the internet to keep us in touch with our friends and family and the outside world!
If you were planning a day at the races this year, or just want to make the most of UK racing coming back on the scene, then you could organise a virtual day at the races instead!
Get everyone together – virtually
OK, so you can’t get everyone round to yours at the moment, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still enjoy the races together. You can get everyone connected together online using something like Zoom so that you can all see and hear each other. If you’re really lucky, you might be able to all meet up in somebody’s garden (make sure you’re obeying social distancing rules) – this does depend on the weather though!
Watch the races live
There are a number of places you can watch Royal Ascot this year. Most of the races will be shown live on ITV but a quick search online will show where you can catch them. If you’re placing bets online, then you can usually watch the race through the bookmaker’s site too.
Get your bets on
Perhaps one of the most enjoyable parts of going to the races is getting your bets on! You can still do this from home!
People have very different ways for choosing which horse to bet on, but if you’re after some tips then you can check out websites offering Royal Ascot Day 4 Tips and Royal Ascot 2020 Day 5 Tips to give yourself a really good chance of backing a winner!
Don’t forget to only bet what you can afford to lose. This should come from your “fun money” and mustn’t leave you short for your bills and other monthly expenses!
Royal Ascot is always a popular event, and with all the struggles and difficulties of 2020 so far, it’s even more highly anticipated than ever before!
