How to keep your team motivated
When you’re in charge of a team, it can be difficult to keep everybody motivated, but motivation is really important if you want your business to be a success! When you’re juggling running a business and managing your employees, it’s easy to let team morale slide, but it’s vital that you make it a priority in order to give your business the very best chance.
How to keep your team motivated
In order for any team to run smoothly and perform at their best, you need every individual to pull their weight. But it can be difficult to know how to keep everybody motivated. What works for one team member, may not work for another.
Financial rewards
Money makes the world go around, or so the saying goes. But it’s true that our main motivation for working is often getting paid.
You need to make sure that your team are being paid fairly for the work that they do so that they don’t feel undervalued.
You can also introduce financial rewards or bonuses for those who go above and beyond what’s expected of them. You might want to introduce targets or annual bonuses so that employees know that they will be rewarded financially for their hard work.
Performance reviews
Understanding the broader purpose and maintaining quality in their work is crucial for every employee’s motivation and career progression. That’s why regularly evaluating, critiquing, and enhancing performance is essential to help every individual achieve their utmost potential.
Performance reviews can be significantly improved by integrating employee HR software into the process. Then, you can guarantee that each employee receives precise, constructive feedback by providing a structured, uniform feedback platform. It not only aligns their goals with the company’s but allows the company to promote a culture of personal growth and development. Also, the analytical nature of HR software solutions lends a more objective and thorough perspective to reviews, turning these sessions into valuable, productive dialogues for both the employee and the company.
A symbol of appreciation

Sometimes, it only takes a simple gesture to make somebody feel truly valued. You could think about introducing awards into your team, such as Team Member of the Month. It wouldn’t take much to implement but this can have a huge impact on your team.
Get hold of some custom trophies and you’re pretty much ready to go. You could choose to either let your team members keep their trophy once it’s been awarded, or choose a more permanent glass trophy that can be used again and again.
Giving your team members recognition in front of their peers is a great way to show just how much their efforts are appreciated.
Team Building Activities
I’m not talking about those cringy ice-breaker activities that we all hate. But organising a team night out can be a great way to encourage your team to get to know each other and hopefully this will lead to them being more productive as a team in the workplace.
You could organise a meal out, a trip to the go-karting track, bowling, pretty much anything that you feel would suit your team. Getting to know each other away from the workplace can be a great way to increase motivation as team members want to do well for each other and help each other to succeed.

It doesn’t need to take much in order to motivate your team, but a little thought and effort really can go a long way. A motivated and efficient team means that your business stands a far better chance of succeeding than a team who simply aren’t interested and don’t work well together. Have you found any ways to motivate your team that have really helped to boost morale in the workplace? I’d love to hear about them in the comments!
