When you have a child you want them to grow up and have the best future possible. You will want to give them the best start in life and be able to help them wherever you can. This is why you might want to save some money that they can have when they turn a certain age. It could be that you need the money to help pay for their university, for a car, to help them put a deposit on a house, or for their wedding. No matter the reason, the last thing you want is to suddenly decide you want to help them out in the future but not have the correct means to do so. This is why it is a good idea to start saving for your child’s future as soon as you can. Here are some top tips that are sure to help you out…

1. Open a high interest bank account

If you know you are going to be saving for a long time, you are going to want a good bank account looking after your money. Do your research and find the one out there that has the highest level of interest and lowest fees. Some banks require you to pay in a certain amount each month so check the necessary terms and conditions will be met before opening an account with them otherwise it’s useless and you might not get the interest paid in.

2. Put away a small set amount every month

As your saving goal is a long term one, you don’t need to save loads at once. Instead, put away a small set amount each month that you can schedule to come out of your account via direct debit. This way you don’t even realise that you are saving and the small amount can quickly add up, particularly over the years. If you don’t want to do it manually, you can set up a standing order from your bank to the savings one, or you can use one of the many apps out there that are designed to help you save and they can take the money automatically out of your account for you.

3. Look at alternative methods

Another great way for you to save for your child’s future is to look into alternative methods of doing so. This could mean that you look into cryptocurrency such as to purchase ETH on a registered exchange, or you look into investing, stocks and shares. These ways of saving could have a higher return rate, but also can be more complex to do so it’s a good idea to do the proper research before doing this.
