How To Update Your Bathroom On A Budget
Updating your bathroom can be expensive if it’s something that you’re looking at doing either currently or in the future. However, there are things you can do which will allow you to save money when it comes to updating your bathroom, rather than spending a fortune on everything.
Add a new lick of paint
A nice and easy way to change the way your bathroom looks is by giving it a new lick of paint. Before painting, you will want to have all the right equipment to start painting and ensure that the walls are wiped clean. Also, you will need to ensure that you get the correct type of paint for your bathroom and ideally one that is mildew-resistant as a lot of moisture will be around in this particular room.
Look into cleaning and regrouting tiles
Over the years there will be a build-up of limescale and mould, which you can do your absolute best to try and keep on top of but there comes a point where it isn’t cleaning as well as it did previously, which is when you may want to consider cleaning and regrouting the tiles.
If your DIY savvy, then this could be something you may want to consider looking into. You will want to remove the tiles, clean them and look at regrouting with some tile adhesive before placing it back into its original spot. It goes without saying that you will need to be very careful when handling the tiles as they are extremely fragile and ensure that you have the right tools necessary for the job.
New tiles can change the way your bathroom feels and looks
If you have the right tools and know a bit about tiling, then retiling the bathroom with some new tiles would be a great way to update your bathroom. If you’re able to do this yourself, then this is a good way to save money, as prices can vary greatly on the type of tiling that is required.
Update your fixtures and fittings
Installing new fixtures and fittings is a relatively cheap and easy way to update your bathroom. Simple changes like renewing the faucets on your bath and sink, to changing your showerhead can help give a new feeling about a bathroom for a relatively cheap price.
Use storage to reduce clutter
Clutter, more often than not, can be the reason why your bathroom feels either smaller or messier than it is. What you can do is install storage that fits with the aesthetic of your bathroom to reduce the amount of clutter. This will allow for much more space and help the bathroom look cleaner, brighter, and more welcoming than previous.
