No-Bake Caramel Apple Fluff (Quick, Easy & Delicious!)
When fall rolls around, I’m all about those cozy, sweet flavors, and caramel apples are always at the top of my list. The only thing I don’t always love is the mess of making (and eating!) traditional caramel apples. That’s where this No-Bake Caramel Apple Fluff comes in. It’s got all the flavor of caramel apples but in a light, creamy, fluffy dessert that takes just minutes to put together. Honestly, it’s become one of my favorite ways to enjoy that classic combo without the sticky fingers.
What I really love about this recipe is how easy it is. Everything mixes up in one big bowl, and before you know it, you’ve got a sweet, creamy dessert salad that looks like you spent way more time on it than you did. The crushed pineapple keeps things juicy, the marshmallows add that fun chewy texture, and of course, the caramel drizzle ties everything together in the best way. It’s the kind of dish I can throw together last minute and still get plenty of “wow” reactions when I bring it out.
This fluff is perfect for potlucks, holiday gatherings, or even just a cozy night in when you’re craving something sweet. I’ve served it as a dessert salad alongside dinner, and I’ve also scooped it up with graham crackers for a little extra crunch. However you enjoy it, this Caramel Apple Fluff is proof that sometimes the simplest recipes are the most irresistible.

Ingredients
-
20 oz can of crushed pineapple (do not drain): The juice from the pineapple is what makes the pudding mix blend so perfectly, so don’t drain it!
-
3.4 oz package of instant butterscotch pudding: This adds that rich, buttery sweetness that makes the fluff extra irresistible.
-
2 cups of mini marshmallows: These little bites of chewy sweetness give the salad its fun, fluffy texture.
-
3 red apples (diced): Crisp red apples add the perfect fresh crunch to balance out all that creaminess.
-
8 oz container of cool whip: Cool Whip makes everything light, airy, and perfectly fluffy.
-
1/2 cup of caramel topping: A drizzle of caramel ties it all together with that classic caramel apple flavor.

My Favorite Ways to Enjoy Caramel Apple Fluff
-
I love serving it straight from the bowl as a sweet, fluffy side dish at family dinners, it’s always the first thing to disappear.
-
Scooping it up with graham crackers or vanilla wafers is one of my favorite little indulgences.
-
I’ve used it as a topping for pound cake, and let me tell you, it’s next-level good.
-
Sometimes I’ll sneak a spoonful right from the fridge as a late-night treat (no regrets!).
-
It makes such a fun addition to fall potlucks, people always ask for the recipe.
-
I’ve even served it in little cups with an extra caramel drizzle for an easy, no-fuss dessert.

Serving & Storing
-
I like to chill the fluff for at least an hour before serving so all the flavors really come together.
-
If I’m making it for a party, I’ll serve it in a big bowl with a spoon, but it’s also so cute in little cups with a caramel drizzle on top.
-
Leftovers keep well in the fridge for about 2–3 days, but the apples do start to soften a bit after that.
-
I always give it a gentle stir before serving leftovers to freshen it up.
-
This dish doesn’t freeze well, so I stick to making just what I know we’ll eat within a couple of days.

Variations
-
Swap the butterscotch pudding for vanilla or cheesecake pudding if you want a different flavor twist.
-
Green apples work just as well if you like a little tartness to balance the sweetness.
-
Add a handful of chopped pecans or walnuts for a little crunch and nuttiness.
-
Stir in some toffee bits or crushed Heath bars if you’re craving extra caramel flavor.
-
Use pumpkin spice pudding in the fall for a cozy, seasonal spin.
-
Mix in a few sliced bananas right before serving for even more fruitiness.

Substitutions
-
If you don’t have butterscotch pudding, vanilla, cheesecake, or even banana pudding mix will work in a pinch.
-
Cool Whip can be swapped for homemade whipped cream if you’d rather go the from-scratch route.
-
Red apples are my favorite here, but you can use Gala, Honeycrisp, or Granny Smith depending on whether you want sweet or tart.
-
Caramel topping can be swapped with butterscotch sauce if that’s what you have on hand.
-
Mini marshmallows can be replaced with the colorful fruity ones for a fun twist.
-
If you don’t have crushed pineapple, you can use pineapple tidbits and just chop them a little smaller.

FAQs
Can I make Caramel Apple Fluff ahead of time?
Yes! I actually love making it the night before so the flavors have time to blend. Just be sure to keep it covered in the fridge.
How long does it last in the fridge?
It usually keeps well for 2–3 days, but the apples will start to soften the longer it sits. I like it best within the first day or two.
Can I use fresh whipped cream instead of Cool Whip?
Definitely! Just make sure your whipped cream is stiff enough so the fluff holds together.
What’s the best apple to use?
I love red apples for their sweetness, but if you like a little tartness, Granny Smith or Honeycrisp are also great choices.
Can I skip the pineapple?
The pineapple adds sweetness and helps the pudding set, but if you’re not a fan, you could try mandarin oranges or just a little extra apple.
Can I make this recipe lighter?
Yes! You can use sugar-free pudding, light Cool Whip, and a lighter caramel sauce if you want to cut down on sugar.
