Boost Your Income Challenge – Day 15

In these days where pretty much everything can be done online, Virtual Assistants are becoming increasingly popular.

Virtual Assistants cover all kinds of jobs from home for companies or individuals who are looking to outsource jobs.

Virtual Assistants can be asked to complete a really wide range of tasks, for example:

  • Social media management – scheduling posts & responding to messages
  • Responding to emails
  • Answering calls
  • Typing
  • Writing content
  • Creating images

Many bloggers use Virtual Assistants as they become more established so that they’re free to work on other things.

Being a Virtual Assistant can work really well if you want to work from home around the kids and general life!

So, if you think you’d like to set up your own VA business, then read on!

Before you start

Consider what services you’re going to offer. None of us are good at everything, so focusing on the areas you’re good at will really help you to succeed.

If creating beautiful pinterest images is your thing, then go with it!

Think about how much you’ll charge – research what others are charging. There’s a HUGE difference in prices from what I’ve found – and the most expensive VAs aren’t necessarily the best. Think about whether you’ll charge per hour or per project.

Finding your first client

There’s no denying that finding your first client is TOUGH. Especially if you’re starting out with little or no experience.

You could think about setting up a website where you can advertise your skills. Also, pitch in blogging groups and on social media. It’s a good idea to offer an incentive or a discounted price for your first few clients.

It will take time to build up a clientbase. But, people tend to share when they find someone great – particularly bloggers. So, once word-of-mouth starts, you could quickly find yourself very busy.

Diversify

Once you’ve mastered one area, there’s nothing to stop you from developing skills in other areas too and diversifying your income. You could take a course in Pinterest for example and start to advertise Pinterest as one of your services.

Whilst you’re building up your VA business, you could also run a few other side hustles too – I have 101 side hustle ideas here that could really help with your finances.
