Boost Your Income Challenge – Day 28
We’re down to the final three emails – where has this 30 days gone?!
Today I want to talk to you about a skill that I just don’t have – but I’m so envious of people that do!
Do you ever see those gorgeous birthday cakes on Facebook that sell for astronomical amounts of money?! There’s so much money to be made in cake-baking!
If you love baking, then this could be a fantastic side hustle for you.
Don’t let it put you off if you’re great at baking but you struggle to decorate cakes either. There’s a girl local to me who is making a fantastic business selling traybakes. She makes bakes that we remember from our school days and she’s doing AMAZINGLY well. So well in fact that she’s given up her part-time job and she just does this full-time now.
Think about what you excel at and focus on that. If it tastes good, then there’s a market for it!
If you are good at cake decoration, then you could make a fortune making and selling childrens’ birthday cakes. These are a great money-spinner all year round and word quickly gets round the school gates when a good cake-maker is found!
Where to sell your products
Obviously you’re going to need to stick fairly local with this. But there are still LOADS of options.
Throughout the Spring and Summer, you can sell at craft fairs – there’s usually one on most weekends within a five mile radius of us so you can keep yourself busy. Make sure you have business cards or flyers whenever you attend an event so that customers can contact you easily in the future.
It’s worth setting up a Facebook page where you can share photos of your cakes and ask customers to leave reviews. A Facebook page is a great place to send any potential customers. You can ask family and friends to try your products and leave you a review too. New customers will often be driven to buy from you after reading a positive review!
Let us know in the Facebook group if you give this a try!
