Fun Halloween Strawberry Brooms Made with Just 3 Ingredients
Every Halloween, I love finding cute and creative treats that are easy enough to whip up in the middle of all the spooky season chaos. These fun Halloween Strawberry Brooms are one of my favorites because they look adorable, taste amazing, and only need three simple ingredients. Seriously, no fancy decorating skills required, and they still get all the “aww!” and “how did you make these?!” comments at parties.
There’s something about the combo of juicy strawberries, salty pretzel sticks, and rich chocolate that just works. The strawberries make them sweet and fresh, the pretzels add that perfect crunch, and the chocolate – well, chocolate makes everything better, right? Plus, they’re shaped like little witch brooms, which makes them perfect for Halloween dessert tables, classroom treats, or even a fun afternoon project with the kids.
What I really love is that these can be made ahead of time, so you’re not scrambling at the last minute before guests arrive. You just dip, decorate, and let them set. That’s it! They’re playful, a little whimsical, and totally tasty, the kind of treat that disappears quickly, so you might want to make a double batch just to be safe.
Ingredients
-
12 large strawberries – Fresh, juicy strawberries form the sweet “broom” base.
-
12 pretzel sticks – Crunchy pretzel sticks make the perfect broom handles.
-
12 ounces chocolate chips – Melted chocolate holds everything together and adds delicious flavor.

Recipe Instructions
You can find a printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.
1. Use a paper towel to pat the strawberries completely dry, then slice off the tops to create a flat surface.

2. Turn the strawberries upside down so the pointed ends face upward.
3. In a microwave-safe bowl, melt half of the chocolate chips in 30-second intervals, stirring after each, until smooth.
4. Dip each strawberry into the melted chocolate, coating it fully, then place on parchment paper to set.

5. While the chocolate is still soft, gently insert a pretzel stick into the flat end of each strawberry.
6. Melt the remaining chocolate chips and spoon into a piping bag. Snip the tip and pipe lines down the sides of each strawberry to resemble broom bristles.

7. Let the chocolate set completely before serving.

My Favorite Ways to Enjoy Strawberry Brooms
-
I love adding them to a Halloween dessert platter alongside cupcakes, cookies, and candy for a mix of spooky sweets.
-
They’re perfect as a fun after-school snack in October, the kids get so excited when they see them on the counter.
-
I sometimes wrap them in little treat bags with a ribbon and hand them out as party favors.
-
They look so cute perched on top of a frosted cake or cupcakes for an extra Halloween touch.
-
I’ve even made a batch just for movie night and served them with popcorn for a sweet-and-salty combo.

Serving & Storing
-
Serve them as soon as the chocolate is fully set so they keep their fresh, juicy bite.
-
If you’re making them ahead, store in a single layer on a parchment-lined tray in the fridge.
-
Avoid stacking them, or the chocolate details might smudge.
-
For the best texture, enjoy within 24 hours, the strawberries can start to release juice after that.
-
If you need to transport them, keep them chilled so the chocolate stays firm and neat.

FAQs
Can I use white chocolate instead of milk or dark?
Absolutely! White chocolate gives them a fun contrast and can even be tinted with food coloring for a more whimsical look.
Do I have to use fresh strawberries?
Fresh is best for flavor and texture, but you could try large dried strawberries if you want them to last longer without refrigeration.
How far in advance can I make Strawberry Brooms?
I recommend making them the same day you plan to serve them, or up to 24 hours ahead, to keep the strawberries fresh and juicy.
What if I don’t have a piping bag for the bristles?
You can use a zip-top bag with a tiny corner snipped off, it works just as well for adding the chocolate details.
Can kids help make these?
Definitely! They’ll love dipping the strawberries in chocolate and adding the pretzel sticks (just be prepared for a little chocolatey mess).
