There’s just something about that sweet and salty combo that gets me every time, and these No-Bake Nutella Christmas Ritz Cookies hit that perfect balance. The buttery crunch of Ritz crackers paired with creamy Nutella and smooth white chocolate is pure bliss in every bite. They’re festive, easy, and totally addictive, the kind of treat that disappears faster than you can say “save me one.”

I love that these cookies require absolutely no baking. When the holiday rush hits, I’m all about quick recipes that still look impressive, and this one checks all the boxes. A little melted chocolate, a smear of Nutella, and a sprinkle of Christmas magic on top is really all it takes. Plus, they make the kitchen smell amazing and feel instantly more festive without turning on the oven.

These are also the perfect treat to make with kids or to package up for neighbors and friends. They’re cute, colorful, and almost too easy to customize with your favorite sprinkles. I usually make a big batch because they never last long around here. If you’re looking for a no-fuss Christmas cookie that tastes like holiday happiness, this is it.

Serving & Storing

  • Serve these cookies chilled or at room temperature for the best texture and flavor.

  • Add them to a holiday dessert platter or wrap them in cellophane bags with ribbon for easy edible gifts.

  • Pair with hot chocolate, coffee, or a glass of milk for a cozy Christmas treat.

  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week to keep the chocolate firm.

  • For longer storage, freeze the cookies in a sealed container for up to 2 months and thaw in the fridge before serving.

Variations

  • Milk or dark chocolate coating: Swap the white chocolate for milk or dark chocolate melting wafers for a richer flavor.

  • Peanut butter filling: Replace the Nutella with creamy peanut butter for a salty-sweet twist.

  • Caramel drizzle: Add a drizzle of melted caramel over the top for an extra indulgent touch.

  • Different sprinkles: Use gold stars, red and green sugar, or crushed candy canes for a new festive look.

  • Mini version: Use mini Ritz crackers for bite-size holiday treats.

  • Sea salt finish: Sprinkle a pinch of flaky sea salt on top to enhance the sweet and salty combo.

  • Nut topping: Add chopped hazelnuts, almonds, or pecans before the chocolate sets for a bit of crunch.

Substitutions

  • Ritz crackers: Use any buttery round crackers or even pretzels for a crunchier, saltier option.

  • Nutella: Try any chocolate-hazelnut spread or swap with peanut butter, cookie butter, or almond butter.

  • White chocolate melting wafers: Substitute with white chocolate chips or almond bark if that’s what you have on hand.

  • Christmas sprinkles: Replace with crushed candy canes, red and green sanding sugar, or mini M&Ms for a fun twist.

  • Ghirardelli’s brand: Any high-quality melting chocolate will work perfectly in this recipe.

Can I make these ahead of time?

Yes! These cookies can be made a few days in advance. Just store them in an airtight container in the fridge until you’re ready to serve.

Do I have to use a cookie mold?

No, you can simply dip the Nutella-filled Ritz sandwiches directly into the melted chocolate and place them on parchment paper to set.

Can I use milk or dark chocolate instead of white chocolate?

Absolutely. Milk or dark chocolate both taste amazing and add a richer flavor.

Do these need to be refrigerated?

It’s best to store them in the refrigerator so the chocolate stays firm and the filling fresh.

Can I freeze them?

Yes! Freeze in a sealed container with parchment paper between layers for up to two months. Thaw in the fridge before serving.

What if I don’t have Nutella?

You can use peanut butter, cookie butter, or any chocolate spread you like, they’ll all taste delicious.

Can I make these for other holidays?

Definitely! Just switch up the sprinkles for Valentine’s Day, Easter, or any celebration throughout the year.
