Our Family Meal Plan – September 28 to October 4

I thought I’d start doing something a little bit different and share our actual weekly meal plan each week. I’m always sharing dinner ideas and recipes on here, but I thought it might be more useful (and a bit more personal!) to show you what we’re genuinely eating at home too.

I’m not promising exciting dinners every single night because that’s definitely not how things work in our house! Some weeks I’m really organised, other weeks I’m rummaging through the freezer at 5pm wondering what on earth I can make. But hopefully sharing our plan will give you a few ideas for your own week too.

So, here’s what’s on our meal plan this week…

What We’re Eating This Week

Monday – Lazy Lasagna

I’m starting the week with something nice and easy. This gives us all the cozy lasagna flavors without me having to mess around layering everything perfectly, which is exactly the sort of dinner I need on a Monday.

On the side: Garlic bread and a simple salad.

Tuesday – Crockpot Chicken Fajitas

Grab the recipe here

Tuesday is a crockpot night because I love knowing dinner is pretty much sorted before the afternoon even starts. Everyone can load up their own fajitas with whatever toppings they want too, which always makes life easier.

On the side: Tortilla chips, salsa and guacamole.

Wednesday – Air Fryer Sweet Potato Jackets

I wanted something a little lighter in the middle of the week, so we’re having sweet potato jackets in the air fryer. I’ll probably just put a few different toppings out and let everyone sort themselves out!

On the side: Salad and whatever toppings I can find in the fridge.

Thursday – One Pan Apple Cider Glazed Pork Chops

This one just feels perfect now we’re heading into October. Pork chops with an apple cider glaze are definitely giving me fall dinner vibes, and even better, it’s all made in one pan so there shouldn’t be too much washing up afterwards.

On the side: Mashed potatoes and some green veggies.

Friday – BBQ Pulled Pork

Friday night is BBQ pulled pork, which I’ll probably serve piled into buns. It’s an easy one that everyone likes and feels a bit more like a Friday night dinner without us needing to order takeout.

On the side: Fries and coleslaw.

Saturday – Chicken Bacon Ranch Potato Bake

Get the recipe here

This is proper weekend comfort food. Chicken, bacon, potatoes and ranch all baked together – there’s really not much not to like about that combination!

On the side: Probably just some veggies because there’s already plenty going on in the bake.

Sunday – Crockpot Chili

Get the recipe here

I’m finishing the week with a big pot of crockpot chili. Sunday is exactly when I want something I can get started earlier in the day and then pretty much forget about until we’re ready to eat.

On the side: Rice, shredded cheese, sour cream and tortilla chips.

That’s the plan for this week! Whether we actually stick to all seven dinners remains to be seen, but at least I’ve got a plan to work from rather than standing in the kitchen at 5pm wondering what on earth we’re going to eat.
