26 Fall Drink Recipes for Halloween, Thanksgiving and Beyond

I absolutely love fall drinks. Give me anything with pumpkin spice, apple, cinnamon or caramel in it and I’m happy! There’s just something about making a cosy drink at home that makes it properly feel like fall.

I’ve put together some of my favourites here and there’s a real mixture. Obviously there are plenty of pumpkin drinks (I couldn’t do a fall drinks roundup without those!), but I’ve also included apple cider drinks, lattes, hot chocolates, milkshakes and some really easy mocktails.

There are a few boozy ones in here too, plus plenty that the whole family can enjoy. Some are perfect for curling up on the sofa on a chilly evening and others would be great for Halloween parties, Thanksgiving or just because you fancy making something a bit more exciting than your usual coffee.

Servings: 1

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup cranberry juice (unsweetened or lightly sweetened)
  • 1 cup sparkling water (or lemon-lime soda for extra sweetness)
  • 1 tablespoon fresh lime juice (about half a lime)
  • Fresh cranberries (for garnish)
  • Lemon or orange slices (for garnish)
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional)
  • Ice cubes

Instructions:

  1. Fill serving glasses with ice cubes.

  2. Combine the cranberry juice, sparkling water (or lemon-lime soda), and fresh lime juice. Stir gently to mix.

  3. Pour the cranberry mixture over the ice in each glass. Garnish with a few fresh cranberries, a lemon slice on the rim, and mint leaves if using.

15. Fireball Apple Cider

For something with a bit more of a kick, this is a good one to try. The cinnamon whisky works so well with the sweet apple cider and makes it feel very fall without needing lots of extra ingredients.

As the weather starts getting colder, this is exactly the sort of coffee I want in my mug. It’s warm and creamy with those lovely cinnamon and ginger flavors that make it feel extra cozy.

Servings: 2

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups milk (or any milk alternative)
  • 2 shots of espresso (or 1/2 cup strong brewed coffee)
  • 3 tablespoons gingerbread syrup (adjust to taste)
  • Ground nutmeg (for garnish)

Instructions:

  1. Brew 2 shots of espresso or ½ cup of strong coffee and set aside.

  2. Warm 2 cups of milk in a small saucepan over medium heat, whisking occasionally until it’s steaming. Froth the milk if you like.

  3. Stir in 3 tablespoons of gingerbread syrup and adjust the sweetness to suit your taste.

  4. Pour the espresso or coffee into two mugs, then slowly add the warm gingerbread milk on top.

  5. Sprinkle a little ground nutmeg over each mug to finish.

17. Pumpkin Spice Smoothie

Pumpkin doesn’t always have to come in the form of a latte or hot chocolate. This is a lighter way to get those cozy fall flavors, and it makes a lovely breakfast or afternoon pick-me-up.

26. Vanilla Latte

Sometimes the simplest coffees are the ones I come back to again and again. This is smooth, creamy and just sweet enough, and it’s really easy to make at home when you don’t fancy a coffee shop run.

Servings: 2

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups milk – of your choice
  • 2 tbsp vanilla syrup
  • 2 espresso shots
  • Whipped cream

Instructions:

  1. Heat the milk in the microwave for about 2 minutes, or until hot.

  2. Froth the milk with a milk frother until it’s foamy and has doubled in size.

  3. Pour the espresso shots and vanilla syrup into your cup.

  4. Add the hot milk to the cup, reserving the foam.

  5. Spoon the foam on top.

  6. Finish with a swirl of whipped cream and enjoy!

I think there’s something about fall that makes drinks a bit more fun! From pumpkin spice and apple cider to caramel, cinnamon and cranberry, there are so many lovely flavors to play around with.
