- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 12 oz fettuccine pasta
- Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Instructions:

- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the chicken until golden brown and cooked through, about 6-7 minutes per side. Remove from skillet and slice into strips.
- In the same skillet, add minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
- Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Add the butter and stir until melted.
- Gradually whisk in the Parmesan cheese until the sauce is smooth and creamy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Meanwhile, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions. Drain and add to the sauce.
- Add the sliced chicken to the pasta and toss to combine.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
What to Serve With Chicken Alfredo Pasta
-
Garlic Bread: A classic pairing, warm and buttery garlic bread is perfect for soaking up the creamy Alfredo sauce.
-
Caesar Salad: Crisp romaine lettuce, crunchy croutons, and a tangy Caesar dressing complement the richness of the pasta beautifully.
-
Steamed Vegetables: Lightly steamed broccoli, asparagus, or green beans add a pop of color and nutrition to your meal.
-
Caprese Salad: Fresh mozzarella, tomatoes, and basil drizzled with balsamic glaze provide a refreshing contrast to the creamy pasta.
-
Roasted Brussels Sprouts: Crispy, caramelized Brussels sprouts offer a delicious, slightly bitter balance to the richness of the Alfredo.
-
Antipasto Platter: A selection of cured meats, cheeses, olives, and marinated vegetables can serve as a delightful appetizer before the main course.
-
Minestrone Soup: A light and hearty soup filled with vegetables and beans can be a comforting starter that complements the pasta.
-
Pesto Breadsticks: Soft breadsticks with a hint of pesto make for a flavorful side that pairs well with the Alfredo sauce.
-
Mixed Green Salad: A simple salad with mixed greens, cherry tomatoes, and a light vinaigrette can provide a refreshing balance to the meal.
-
Wine Pairing: Consider serving a glass of white wine, such as Chardonnay or Pinot Grigio, to enhance the flavors of the dish.
How to Store Leftovers
-
Cool Down: Allow the Chicken Alfredo Pasta to cool to room temperature before storing to prevent condensation and moisture buildup in the container.
-
Use Airtight Containers: Transfer the leftovers to airtight containers to keep them fresh and prevent odors from permeating your refrigerator.
-
Portion Control: Consider dividing the pasta into individual portions for easy reheating and to avoid having to thaw the entire batch.
-
Refrigerate: Store the containers in the refrigerator if you plan to eat the leftovers within 3-4 days. Make sure the temperature is set below 40°F (4°C).
-
Freeze for Longer Storage: If you want to keep the leftovers for a longer period, you can freeze the Chicken Alfredo Pasta. Use freezer-safe containers or heavy-duty freezer bags, leaving some space for expansion.
-
Label and Date: Always label your containers with the date and contents so you can easily identify them later and keep track of how long they’ve been stored.
-
Reheat Properly: When ready to enjoy your leftovers, reheat them on the stove over low heat, adding a splash of milk or cream to restore creaminess, or use the microwave in short intervals, stirring in between.
-
Avoid Reheating Multiple Times: To maintain quality and safety, try to only reheat the portion you plan to eat rather than reheating the entire batch multiple times.
