Elf on the Shelf Mischief

Elf on the Shelf Mischief

I’ve written a few times about the Elf on the Shelf tradition that’s become increasingly popular over the last few years.

Our elf is called Eddie and is generally a really well-behaved elf who just likes to bring little treats and do funny things. He goes back to the North Pole every night and returns before we wake. He always lands back in a different place to the previous night and the children spend a happy five minutes looking for him each morning. My eldest who’s 10 has admitted he knows Eddie is just a toy but he still enjoys looking for him and hasn’t spoilt the magic for his sister. He does still believe in Santa thankfully!

Over the last few days, my daughter has been chatting to Eddie and asking him to do something mischievous. Now, the trouble with this is that by the time I remember he needs sorting, I’m ready for going up to bed myself. I’m so unorganised with these elf antics!

Yesterday, I saw a picture on Facebook which looked so easy and I knew she’d find it hilarious. So, Eddie perched on a bottle of ketchup, aimed at a target and FIRED! We must have caught him in the act as this is how we found the cheeky chappy this morning!

I do sometimes find it difficult to come up with my own ideas for the elf, but there are lots of ideas online so I’m going to start putting some of them into action. My daughter has whispered to Eddie this morning that she’d like him to do something else cheeky whilst she’s at school so I’ll have to come up with something!

If you want to get involved with Elf on the Shelf there’s still time!

We bought this one:

These are in stock and will arrive before Christmas. Definitely worth doing even just for Christmas Eve.
