Give Me Cosmetics Review

Give Me Cosmetics Review

I recently purchased some items from Give Me Cosmetics following on from seeing their adverts on Facebook. I’m not usually one for buying things I see advertised on Facebook, but this company had literally hundreds of positive comments about their products on every single Facebook advert I saw, so I thought I’d have to give them a try. I’m sure I can’t be the only one to be targeted by their adverts, so I wanted to share my Give Me Cosmetics review in case you want an honest opinion from a genuine customer.

I’m approaching 40 now and my hair has definitely seen better days. I get a full head of highlights every couple of months to lighten up my dull brown colour, and I definitely don’t take as much care of it as I should. I’ve always had greasy hair that’s needed washing every morning, and as I have to be out of the door for the school run fairly early, this means my hair gets a good blast from the hairdryer every morning too.

I’ve never been one for buying expensive products for my hair, but I do always buy decent quality shampoo and conditioner, and I use a leave in spray after washing too to protect my hair a little.

I saw the adverts for Give Me Cosmetics on Facebook and they just kept reappearing. People were raving about their shampoo, conditioner and hair masks. The price was fairly reasonable so I thought I would give them a try.

Just for reference, these are the kinds of reviews I was seeing. Note that there aren’t ANY negative reviews AT ALL! It sounds too good to be true doesn’t it.

Give Me Cosmetics Review

I ordered a shampoo, conditioner and hair mask and I couldn’t wait for them to arrive. With all the positive reviews and celebrity endorsements I really thought I’d finally stumbled on a miracle product at a budget price!

The products took about a week to arrive which is a little slower than I would have hoped but I wasn’t too bothered. I tried them the next morning and immediately hit a pretty big problem. It is virtually impossible to get the conditioner out of the bottle! I tried shaking it, banging it, tried to get the top off to no avail. I was stumped! I sent Give Me Cosmetics a message asking them if they had any tips. Now I’ve used shampoos and conditioners all of my life so I am pretty confident it wasn’t user error. I left it a few days but didn’t get any response. I then turned to Facebook and left a message on one of their paid adverts that was still clogging up my timeline. I asked again how to get the conditioner out of the bottles. My message immediately got several replies from people who were also struggling.

A few days later and I thought it was odd that the replies to my message had stopped and that Give Me Cosmetics themselves hadn’t responded. That’s when I discovered that they had deleted my message. It appears that they delete any comment that doesn’t rave about their products – hardly a transparent company!

I have complained about the company to Facebook but as yet their adverts are still live. You can see I’m not alone in my experiences and there are plenty of bad reviews here (Give Me Cosmetics aren’t able to delete these reviews).

In order to give a proper Give Me Cosmetics Review, I did contact them to ask if they had any comment and I did request a refund for the one product that was unusable, but as usual they failed to respond. I lodged a claim through PayPal and got my whole order refunded.

For the products I could actually use (shampoo and hair mask), they were mediocre at best. I’ll be sticking to my old faithful Bed Head Shampoo & Conditioner duo which really is great quality.

Building up a business is difficult, I get that, but twisting reviews or deleting even slightly negative comments really is misleading.

  1. What a shame! I was hoping it would have been a good review as they keep popping up on my timeline too but I won’t be taking them up on any deals anytime soon!

    1. I wouldn’t usually go to the trouble of writing a review like this but the way they’re misleading people on their Facebook adverts really isn’t on!

  2. If you look at the ingredients, there isn’t anything great about them sadly. It’s just a cheap shampoo that they are selling for a lot more than it’s worth. Even the supposed ‘miracle ingredients’ are at the very bottom of the ingredients list! Any cheap shampoo in a supermarket is comparable

  3. This is the exact issue I had. Could not get the conditioner out of the bottle.
Their customer service is mediocre. I have put in a claim to Paypal and complaint to Facebook.
