Making A Lot Of Money Starts With Thinking Differently

If you ask most people the secret to making a lot of money, they’ll tell you that it’s all about building products and creating a personal brand.

Actually, it has very little to do with any of that. Those are just the effects.

The root of real wealth is your mindset – how you see the world. If that isn’t right, you’ll never get the lifestyle that you want.

Think Rich

When you talk to many wealthy people, they will often tell you that they considered themselves wealthy, even before they actually were.

What they mean by this is that they knew deep down that they were a rich person. They saw something in their nature that would allow them to escape their roots and live a life of material abundance.

Thinking rich is a kind of state-of-mind. A person who has this thought pattern looks at others who have wealth and sees it as their legitimate future. It is not a fantasy. It is something they could have in time.

Thinking rich is much more important than you might imagine. If you unconsciously believe that you’ll always be poor or middle-class, then that is how your life will pan out. You’ll self-sabotage whenever you do anything to improve your life and revert to type.

Focus On Adding Value

Focusing on money is generally a bad idea in business. Obsessing over the figures never built any successful enterprise. Instead, most of the world’s leading brands grew out of the passion of a single person (or partnership). They saw a way to add value, and they executed.

Thinking rich is about considering what you can do to help your fellow man. The more you give to the world, the more you’ll receive in return. If it sounds karmic, that’s because it is.

Make Your Finances Flexible

For a lot of people, personal finance is about meticulously budgeting for every eventuality.

The reason, though, that most people get into this predicament is that they are living so close to the edge of what they can afford. Their financial position is so precarious that maintaining it becomes a full-blown administrative exercise.

The rich, however, don’t bother with any of this. They know that the more they simplify their lives, the more freedom they have long-term. Sure, it involves a few sacrifices in the here and now. But the result is the ability to apply oneself to money-making projects in a way you just can’t if you’re maxed out on credit cards.

Don’t Buy Stuff

Gary Vaynerchuck is an entrepreneur who is worth hundreds of millions of dollars today. However, when he first started, he recognized the value of not buying stuff. He lived cheap for ten years, working every day and not taking any holidays because he knew that was the route to success. It was a tough gig.

But he had the strategy right. He used all of his money to make more money, and eventually, it snowballed. This principle lies at the root of all investing
