We all know that I love making extra money, and that’s probably why you’ve landed here too. Side hustles are my thing and I take on lots of them in order to boost our monthly income and achieve our financial goals. With side hustles, I love both the big money ones and some of the smaller, easy money hustles too. Receipt Hog has become part of my daily and weekly routine and although it’s never going to make me a millionaire, it’s really easy money for doing very little.
If you’re looking for quicker ways to make bigger money, then you might want to try matched betting which is a great way to boost your income when you need money pretty quickly.
You can also head over to my free email course which is packed with 30 days worth of great ideas for side hustles.
What is Receipt Hog?
Receipt Hog is very similar to Shoppix in that you earn points in return for taking photographs of your receipts.
Every time you upload a receipt, you’re given coins in return which you can then build up and cash out for either Amazon vouchers or PayPal cash. I always opt for PayPal because I like to use the money I make from apps like Receipt Hog to save towards Christmas.
Which receipts can you upload?
Pretty much any printed receipt will be accepted, whether it’s a receipt for doing your weekly shop at a big supermarket, or a receipt for an item you’ve bought from your local corner shop.
The following won’t be accepted:
Note that you also cannot upload receipts from online shopping.
How many receipts can you upload?
Unlike Shoppix, who only allow one receipt per retailer per day, Receipt Hog allow up to three receipts from the same retailer each day. This is great for when you’ve shopped both in-store and at the the petrol station on the way out.
You can upload a maximum of 20 receipts per week.
How much will you earn with Receipt Hog?
Every single receipt you upload will earn coins which you then build up until you have enough to cashout.
A receipt for a total of less than £10 will earn you 5 coins, £10-£50 will earn 10 coins, £50-£100 will be 15 coins, and anything over £100 will be 20 coins.
You can also earn spins on the Hog slot too where you can win coins just for pulling the little lever.
Receipt Hog doesn’t earn you as much money as Shoppix, but it’s still worth doing! For the time it takes to quickly snap your receipt, it’s really easy money. It’s worth doing both Shoppix and Receipt Hog and working it into your routine either immediately after doing your shopping or doing it at the end of each week.
Once you cash out, it takes around 7 days for your funds to land.
Top Tip with Receipt Hog
Don’t throw your receipts away as soon as you’ve uploaded them. Hold on to them until you get a notification that they’ve been accepted, just in case your image wasn’t clear enough or they need a little bit more detail!
