Schuh Imperfects – How to bag cheap branded shoes
Schuh is a well-known high street name selling both branded and own-brand shoes since 1981. They opened their first store on Edinburgh’s North Bridge Arcade and now have 132 stores across the United Kingdom and Ireland. Buying Schuh imperfects is a great way to save money on both designer names and own brand shoes and get fantastic pairs of shoes at a bargain price.
What are Schuh imperfects?
Schuh have a section on their website dedicated to ex-display shoes. These shoes are perfectly good to wear but they have been handled and tried on. Some shoes in this section may also have slight defects or discolourations. But, if you want to grab a bargain, then some of these shoes are far cheaper than the original retail price.
There is a really wide range of shoes available including trainers, boots, canvas pumps and sandals in both adult and child sizes. Obviously, the exact items will vary depending on what’s available at the time.
How do I know what I’m going to get?
The great thing with Schuh ex-display and imperfect items is that you actually see a picture of the exact pair of shoes that you’re buying. This means you can see exactly what the defect is by looking at the actual shoes you’re going to receive.
Schuh states that their imperfect items may have:
- Scratches or scuff marks
- Discoloured or faded
- Irremovable dirty marks
As well as the photo, there is also a written description of the imperfections in the product listing.
Which brands are available on Schuh imperfects?

The savings will vary but you can find some fantastic bargain shoes. At the time of writing, they have shoes reduced to just £3.99 – an absolute bargain!
What is the returns policy?
As these are imperfect, the rules for returns are slightly different. You can’t exchange for a different colour or size, but you can return for a full refund if you’re not happy. Returns won’t be accepted in-store though, you’ll need to return via the Schuh website.
Do the shoes come in the original packaging?
This varies. Sometimes they will arrive in the original packaging, other times they won’t. It varies from shoe to shoe.
These imperfect and ex-display shoes are fantastic in my opinion. They’re a great way to get hold of cheap shoes with individual quirks making a huge saving on the normal retail price. I think it makes a huge difference that you can actually see the exact shoes you’re going to receive too, so you can decide whether you’re happy with the defects before placing your order. With the cost of living ever on the rise, I think buying branded shoes at such low prices will be a huge help for many families.
