One of my favourite side hustles is user testing through TryMyUI. The jobs are quick and easy and they pay really well too. If you’re not familiar with how user testing works or more specifically how TryMyUI works, then this post should fill in the gaps.

What is User Testing?

Website developers often want to test out how user friendly their websites are – and to do this they will sometimes use a company such as TryMyUI in order to get some genuine user feedback. The developer will set specific tasks for the user in order to see how easy their site is to navigate.

How do the tests work?

With user testing, you will need to download some software to your computer so that both your screen and your voice can be recorded whilst you carry out a test. This is important for the developers as they really want to see how users are likely to move around their site, and they want to hear your thoughts as you move around the site.

How much money do TryMyUI pay?

TryMyUI pay $10 per test and payments are send out weekly on Fridays once your uploaded test has been approved. This is by no means a full-time, work from home income, but I do find that I receive regular tests and some weeks it’s possible to make upwards of $50 just from user testing with TryMyUI

How do I sign up?

Fill your details in on the worker signup page, and you’ll be taken to a link where you can download the TryMyUI software.

Once you’ve got the software installed (which is really simple to do), you will need to complete a quick demo test just to make sure that you’re able to follow the instructions.

Once that’s done, you’ll start to get email notifications letting you know when a suitable test is available.

When you complete a test, it gets sent over to the client for approval, and then payment can be issued.
