It’s time for another email sharing another fab way to make extra money from home.
Today I’m sharing details of how you can make money as a website tester from home.
There are a small number of websites that allow you to “test” their client’s websites and report back to them.
What do you need?
As far as equipment goes, you generally don’t need anything special. You’ll obviously need access to the internet, plus a laptop/desktop, up-to-date browser and a microphone (built in ones work fine).
How can you find work?
You’ll need to sign up to the websites and fill out a few details about yourself.
WhatUsersDo test online websites for paying clients who want to see how users interact with their website.
When you register, you’ll need to complete your profile, which allows WhatUsersDo to make sure you’re matched up with relevant jobs. So, for example, if you haven’t got any children, then you won’t be the best person to test out a baby products website.
Once you’ve registered, you will need to download their screen recorder. This only records when you’re completing a task and remains inactive at all other times. If you’re at all concerned about privacy, then just make sure you only have the WhatUsersDo screen open when you start a new task – just close all other tabs down first.
The jobs are really easy and generally take around 10 minutes at the most – and you’ll be paid £5 per task. That works out at a rate of £30 per hour – that’s not bad!
User Testing is another site I’d recommend signing up to. I haven’t had as much work from these as WhatUsersDo, but they do pay slightly more at $10 per test.
Again, you’ll need to complete your profile in order to start receiving work.
When there is a job available, you’ll be sent an email and then it’s first come first served – so if you’re free, then it’s worth logging in straight away to ensure you don’t miss out on the job.
