Boost Your Income Challenge – Day 4

Another day, another way to make some extra money – this time with Mystery Shopping.

I’ve been mystery shopping for about 10 years – wow, that makes me feel old!

I first started when my now almost 12 year old was a toddler. I was working full-time but we were struggling to make ends meet with nursery fees and just general living costs.

What is mystery shopping?

Mystery shoppers are recruited to help shops, restaurants and other establishments keep a check on how they’re performing. As a mystery shopper, you’ll be given specific tasks so that they can see how they’re doing from a customer’s perspective.

I’ve completed a really varied lot of tasks. I’ve had lots of free meals out with my husband and I’ve also been paid to visit shops where I’ve been reimbursed for my purchases AND been paid too.

You don’t need any specialist equipment, and often you’re allowed to have somebody with you – so if you’re a stay-at-home Mum then you can take your child with you for some jobs.

Where can you find work?

There are LOTS of mystery shopping companies, so it’s not difficult to find paid work.

One of my favourite sites is Market Force.
