Survey sites can be a great way to make some extra cash in your spare time – but they’re renowned for being pretty low paying.
One of my favourite survey sites actually pays really well! I’ve even been paid £6 for a short survey with them.
I find some survey sites really frustrating. You can spend ages applying for surveys, completing pages of answers, only to then be told you’re not eligible. So annoying! This is where Prolific Academic surveys are different. With prolific surveys, you’re pre-screened, so you know you’ve already been accepted onto the survey before you start completing it – this means there’s none of that faffing about you get with many survey sites, answering questions and using up valuable time only to be screened out and not get paid.
I’ve been paid really well for surveys with Prolific. These are just a few payments I’ve received for a few minutes “work”.
So, why isn’t everyone making a fortune?
One of the main issues I’ve found with Prolific surveys is that they get snapped up REALLY quickly. So, although you’ve already been pre-screened before accepting a survey, there are only limited places and once those slots are filled, you won’t be able to take part.
BUT – there is a nifty way you can increase your chances of bagging the surveys.
Prolific Academic have a clever Google Chrome toolbar extension. This links into your account and alerts you when there is a survey waiting in your account. I generally have the laptop open whatever I’m doing, so when I’m at home I very rarely miss out on a survey. The notification will display on your screen as well as a handy voice telling you “Prolific survey available”.
The pop-up will give you a few handy bits of information, such as how long the survey is likely to take, what you’ll be paid, and how many spaces are still available.
This really is a game changer for me.
So, I’d definitely recommend signing up and downloading the extension. It makes it so much easier to make money!
