A word of warning

Of course, collecting points and saving them up is a good thing, but you should be aware that collecting Nectar points is not always the best offer for all of these retailers.

For some of these, you will need to click through a Nectar link in order to receive your Nectar points. This means that you can’t use a cashback site and claim money back on your purchases. But if you were to go through a cashback site instead, you would actually earn much more in cashback than you would in Nectar points.

Ways to spend Nectar points

Once you’ve built up a healthy stash of Nectar points, you’re probably wondering how to make the most of them.

Sainsbury’s Double Up Weekend

The Double Up Weekend is probably what most people save their points for. It’s pretty much what it says on the tin – you’ll get double the value of your points to redeem in-store at Sainsbury’s. There are restrictions on what you can spend your points on though so you’ll need to check the fine print before you attempt to redeem your points.

It’s likely that the next double up event will happen around Christmas time, so keep an eye out for details.

You can also use your Nectar points to pay for items at:

  • Sainsbury’s
  • Vue
  • Argos
  • eBay
  • Pizza Hut
  • Cafe Nero
