Adorable Reindeer Oreos (The Cutest No-Bake Christmas Treat!)

When the holidays roll around, I can’t resist whipping up fun little treats that make everyone smile, and these Reindeer Oreos are right at the top of my list. They’re cute, festive, and ridiculously easy to put together. Honestly, the hardest part is trying not to eat all the Oreos before decorating them! I love that they’re no-bake, which means less fuss in the kitchen and more time enjoying the holiday season with my family.

These little reindeer faces are always a hit with kids and adults alike. My own crew has so much fun helping me dip, stick, and decorate, and I’ll admit, sometimes the reindeer end up looking a little silly, but that just makes them even more charming. The combination of the crunchy cookie, sweet chocolate coating, and salty pretzel “antlers” is pure magic. Plus, who can resist those big candy eyes and a bright red Rudolph nose?

I think what makes these Reindeer Oreos so special is how versatile they are. They’re perfect for holiday cookie trays, class parties, or even just a cozy movie night at home with hot cocoa. They travel well, store easily, and bring instant cheer wherever they go. Whenever I set a plate of these out, they disappear almost as quickly as I made them!

Items Needed

  • Medium microwave safe mixing bowl
  • Cookie sheet or cooling rack
  • Parchment paper
  • Candy dipper or fork

Ingredients

  • 14.3oz bag (405g, 36 cookies) of regular Oreo cookies – The classic cookie base that turns into our adorable reindeer faces.

  • 1 and 1/2 cups (9oz, 255g) chocolate candy melts – Smooth, sweet coating to give each Oreo that festive chocolatey finish.

  • 36 light brown candy melts – Perfect little “snouts” to bring each reindeer to life.

  • 36 red m&ms – Because every reindeer lineup needs a bright red Rudolph nose.

  • 72 candy eyeballs – Big, silly eyes that make these treats irresistibly cute.

  • 36 twisted pretzels – Snap them in half for the crunchiest, most adorable reindeer antlers.

Recipe Instructions

You can find a printable recipe card at the bottom of this post.

1. Line a baking sheet or cooling rack with parchment paper.

2. Add the chocolate candy melts to a microwave-safe bowl. Heat them in the microwave at 50% power for 1 minute, then stir. Continue microwaving in 30-second intervals at 50% power, stirring each time, until the chocolate is completely smooth. This can take up to 5 minutes, depending on your microwave.

3. Using a fork or candy dipper, dip each Oreo into the melted chocolate until fully coated. Gently tap off any excess chocolate.

4. Place the coated Oreo on the prepared parchment. While the chocolate is still soft, press a light brown candy melt onto the bottom half for the snout, add two candy eyeballs just above it, and attach a red M&M nose with a dab of melted chocolate. Break a pretzel in half and press one half onto each side of the cookie to form antlers.

5. Allow the cookies to sit for about 10 minutes, or until the chocolate has hardened, before serving.

My Favorite Ways to Enjoy Reindeer Oreos

  • I love setting a plate of these out with mugs of hot cocoa for a cozy holiday movie night.

  • They’re always a big hit at Christmas parties. I’ve seen both kids and adults sneak a second (or third!).

  • I like wrapping a few in little cellophane bags with ribbon for easy, edible gifts.

  • These make the cutest addition to a holiday cookie tray or dessert board.

  • Sometimes I’ll pop one on top of a cupcake or even use them as a festive cake topper.

  • My kids enjoy taking them in their lunchboxes during December as a sweet surprise.

Serving & Storing

  • These little reindeer look the cutest when arranged on a festive holiday platter.

  • If I’m serving them at a party, I like to mix them in with other Christmas cookies for a fun variety.

  • Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature, they’ll stay fresh for about 4–5 days.

  • If your kitchen runs a little warm, you can pop them in the fridge to keep the chocolate from softening.

  • I don’t recommend freezing them, since the pretzels and candy decorations can lose their crunch and color.

Variations

  • Swap the red M&M for a brown one if you want a mix of Rudolphs and his reindeer friends.

  • Try using white candy melts instead of chocolate for a snowy-looking reindeer.

  • Add a little sparkle by sprinkling edible glitter or sanding sugar over the wet chocolate.

  • Use mini pretzels instead of full-size twisted ones if you prefer daintier antlers.

  • Mix things up with golden Oreos or flavored Oreos for a surprise inside.

  • If you can’t find light brown candy melts for the snout, a caramel or peanut butter candy works just as well.

Substitutions

  • If you don’t have chocolate candy melts, you can use milk or dark chocolate chips with a teaspoon of coconut oil mixed in for smoother dipping.

  • No light brown candy melts? Try Rolos, Mini Reese’s Cups, or even a dab of extra chocolate instead for the snout.

  • Red M&Ms can be swapped with red Skittles or any small round red candy for Rudolph’s nose.

  • If you’re out of candy eyes, just pipe little dots of melted chocolate or white icing with a mini chocolate chip in the center.

  • Can’t find twisted pretzels? Pretzel sticks cut in half or even small chocolate-coated pretzels will still make cute antlers.

FAQs

Can I make Reindeer Oreos ahead of time?
Yes! You can make them a couple of days in advance. Just store them in an airtight container at room temperature so the pretzels don’t get soft.

Do I have to use candy melts?
Nope! You can melt regular chocolate chips (milk, semi-sweet, or dark) with a little coconut oil or shortening for dipping instead.

What if I can’t find candy eyes?
No worries! You can make your own with white icing and mini chocolate chips, or even just dot on some melted chocolate.

Can these be frozen?
I don’t recommend freezing because the pretzels can lose their crunch and the decorations might not hold up well once thawed.

How long do they take to set?
Usually about 10 minutes at room temperature, but if you’re in a hurry, you can pop the tray in the fridge for a few minutes to speed things up.
